Jacinta Way In Myrniong

We have created a design that responds to the unique characteristics of the sloping site, with the house split into two levels and nestling nicely into the landscape.

The design allows for direct and inviting views into the main living area as soon as you enter. The living space is open and streamlined with large north-facing windows. Large glass sliding doors open directly onto the alfresco, further capturing views of the bushland.

We have aimed to create views to the west, looking down across the valley and trees, while still being able to have large glazing areas facing north for maximum solar gain. The living area has been carefully located so that the glazing is not overshadowed by the existing tree still being able to have large glazing areas facing north for maximum solar gain.

The main entry is defined by the intersection of the building form and is protected by the overhang of the upper building and is further defined by stepped landscaping to the porch.

The intent of the upper floor is to provide glimpses of the lake. A large pergola with shading battens over the pool connects to the alfresco and creates a great outdoor play and entertainment zone – with beautiful views!
